Have you ever had days where it seems like life is just hitting you hard or you feel overwhelmed?  If you said yes, you are not alone.  Stress consumes and deteriorates the health of so many people around the world daily.  People are working more and more hours and loaded with more responsibilities as well.  I used to be one of those people running around with their neck cutoff and stressed to the max.  Imagine me being busy, is that possible?  Anyone who knows me well knows that busy is my middle name.  I knew that if I didn’t find a quick way to handle my stress and hectic life that I too would have failing health.  With so little time I had to be creative and come up with something that would be quick and help me on the spot.  So I came up with what I call “5 Minute Meditation”.  Meditation is a art and you have to practice it in order for it to be effective. Here is the 3 step guide to the 5 Minute Meditation.

The first step is to be aware of when you are being hit with what I call a Stress Attack.  How do you know when a Stress Attack is hitting you? It’s anytime you feel overwhelmed or stressed and can barely think straight. For many it happens daily and it ruins the rest of their day.  If you find yourself being short with people or low on energy  you are suffering a Stress Attack.

Once you are aware that you are having a Stress Attack you need to STOP and find a quite place to go for five minutes.  You may say that there is no quiet place where you work but you have to be creative.  Some places where I’ve done 5 Minute Meditation are in my car, in a bathroom stall (not so quiet sometimes), in utility closet, at a park, you get the idea.  You will be surprised at the places you will find when you truly look.  Sometimes looking for a place is a lot of fun because you have to be creative at times.

Finally the last step is the actual 5 Minute Meditation.  Once you are in a quite place, close your eyes and  inhale deeply for three seconds and exhale slowly for three seconds.  Do the breathing for the first two minutes only. That lets you clear your mind and calms you down instantly. Then for the next two minutes focus on all your blessings.  It could be your spouse, kids, you have a job, your health or anything you can think of that you are blessed with.  It helps you forget about the stress and zeros you in on the positives in your life.  For the last minute focus on having a great day. Knowing that you can’t change the past but you can have a influence on how the rest of your day will go.

We all have five minutes a day to help improve our health.  My 5 Minute Meditation helps me daily and has saved me from many days of Stress Attacks.  Try it out for a week and give me feedback if it helped you as well on this blog.  Use the 5 Minute Meditation daily so you to can LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE NOW!
